about
Maya is an actor and writer drawn to weird [explosive] family dynamics and weird [exceptional] lighting.
She’s worked Off-Broadway, on screen (Mordeo, CryptTV), and on stages across the country, including Paper Mill Playhouse, Asolo Repertory Theatre, and the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Recently, she starred as Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors at PlayMakers Repertory Theatre, and was honored with the Louise Lamont Distinguished Guest Artist Award.
A lover of Yiddish, Maya co-founded The Mamales, a Yinglish trio that’s been featured in Kveller, The Forward, and performs nationwide. She was also featured on Hey Alma, as Karen, in Yiddish Mean Girls.
In her down time, she enjoys wandering through antique stores, improvisational cooking, and reading for pleasure.
